CoVID-19 Information

The Empire State Water Well Driller's Association, Inc. is providing this page for its members for the most up to date information on the CoVID-19 situation.
Please visit this page often as we will be updating it.

As of Monday, March 16, all DEC staff are required to work from home due to COVID-19. The past couple of days have been a challenge, but we are now able to conduct most program activities in a relatively normal manner.

Please communicate with the Water Well Program through email as much as possible.
Since there is very little staff in the office, we will no longer be able to respond to faxes on a daily basis, if at all. The online system for submission of notices will likely be turned off in the next day or so, due to the challenges of interacting with that system from home. I have access to voicemail and will check for messages regularly.

We should all try as much as possible to keep up on paperwork.
We will try our best to keep up on assigning well numbers and processing annual registrations, so keep them coming! I will not be able to mail your certificate or rig decals until I return to the office. If there is a delay in registration, please do not be concerned about enforcement - we will suspend enforcement for lack of registration or possession of a certificate/rig decal until things get back to normal.

Preliminary Notices and Water Well Completion Reports: Email to NYSWaterWells@dec.ny.gov
Registration Forms: Email the completed form with a copy of your check to NYSWaterWells@dec.ny.gov. Then mail the form and check as usual to the address on the form.

I would like to extend a special "Thank You" to NYSWWDA President Tyler Wills for helping with communication during the early stages of this situation.

Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions or concerns.

Stay "well",
Beth
